How to Make a Torrent for Dummies - Help the community grow by sharing ur stuff here !!

OK, some people had problems following the steps involved in my previous guide... sooo a new guide .. YAY i hear the n00bs shout !

OK lets begin..

Step 1: Download Complete Dir

It is a Simple torrent creating software

Install it and run it from the Start menu



Step 2: ADD FILE or ADD DIR

WHAT TO CHOOSE ?

IF YOU WANT TO SEED A MUSIC ALBUM THEN PUT ALL YOUR SONGS FOR THAT ALBUM INTO ONE FOLDER AND CHOOSE "ADD DIR"

IF YOU WANT TO UPLOAD A MOVIE WHICH HAS 2 CD'S THEN PUT BOTH CD'S INTO ONE FOLDER AND SELECT "ADD DIR"

IF YOU WANT TO UPLOAD A SINGLE FILE, EG A MOVIE WHICH IS ONE AVI/MPG FILE THEN CHOOSE "ADD FILE", REMEMBER YOU CAN ALSO PUT THE FILE INTO ONE FOLDER AND CHOOSE "ADD DIR" INSTEAD..IF U DID THAT THEN THE PERSON WHO STARTS DOWNLOADING YOUR FILE WILL GET A NEW FOLDER CREATED ON THEIR HARD DRIVE WHICH YOUR 1 FILE MOVIE INSIDE

OK once you decided which it is you want go ahead and click the apporpriate option... in this example i am going to seed a music album...



Check everything is fine and then hit the "make" button.... the torrent will be created and saved to the root directory of the music album folder...



The torrent file is saved to the root of the directory being seeded



Step 3: Upload and Seed the file !

OK log into www.bollywodtorrents.com and upload this torrent file, add an appropriate description and select an appropriate category and uploaad it.

MAKE SURE YOU COMPLETE THE ABOVE STEP FIRST OTHERWISE THE TORRENT WILL NOT BE REGISTERED WITH OUR TRACKER !!!

AFTER YOU UPLOAD THE TORRENT IT WILL ASK YOU TO SAVE IT, SO RIGHT CLICK THE TORRENT AND CLICK "SAVE TARGET AS"....



To seed the file i am going to use Bit Torrent original...

Install bittorrent or use your favorite bittorrent client to seed the file...

OK right click the torrent file and choose btdownloadgui or your favourite bittorrent client, REMEMBER WE ARE USING THE TORRENT FILE WHICH WE JUST SAVED IN THE STEP ABOVE!!



Next it will ask you where to save the file.. we are seeding it so browse to the music directory.. in this example we will browse to the Josh - Kabhi Music album directory



The torrent will begin to seed...



now the idea is to leave it open until some people start downloading it from you ! Dont despair if u see nobody downloading it... patience ... people WILL downalod it !

any problems just post them in this thread....



if you get an error like "rejected by tracker"
This means u have not uploaded the torrent to our tracker.. goto "step 3"

if u get an error like "invalid passkey"
This means u have uploaded the torrent file successfully but u need to use the torrent file which we will provide on the details page and dont use the torrent which u created.
